Hi, I'm Josh. I really like sports and not tv shows. My favorite sport to watch is football and I like to play any sport. Like, in the spring I play baseball, and in the winter I play basketball. For my birthday, I got this basketball hoop you can hang up on your door. My favorite part about watching sports is watching all the really good big games on tv, like the Super Bowl and the World Series. And that's all about me.
Hi! I'm Darius. I like to play video games. My favorite is Skylanders. I like to play tag with my friends at school. We like to play Avengers too. I like going to computer lab and gym because I get to play basketball. I'm really good at shooting. Bye!
Last week we learned that there are special jobs that mathematicians do. What do you remember about the jobs?
Leave a comment below to discuss them. Don't forget to read other people's ideas! You can reply to someone else, or you can leave a new idea as a separate comment.
Here are some things to think about:
What jobs are most familiar to you?
What jobs do you think we do the most?
Which are most important? Why?
If you can't see them clearly, click on the photo to see a bigger image. I can't wait to read all your wonderful ideas!
What would you build if you could design your very own toy? Well, we did! We worked with a partner and designed our own toy. We had to think about what we've learned in science to design a toy that moves. First, we drew a plan on paper. Then, we drew the real thing. Then, we got to share them with the class! Some of us are still waiting for our turn. Well, that's all for now!
My name is Ella! I like science and lots of other activities, like gym, art, and music. I also like to play outside. I'm good at doing the monkey bars at recess. I like to learn about math cause it's fun! I like math tests because there's fun things on them. Now you know a little bit about me.
Have you ever built a marble rollercoaster? We have! It all started this morning when Mrs. Freeman pulled out a big brown box... Inside, there were long styrofoam runways and marbles! First, we made a short rollercoaster with a partner. Then, we taped two runways together to make a longer rollercoaster. Then we made an enormous monster rollercoaster that went all the way across the classroom! Want to know how it turned out? Ask a second grader! This is the Super Smarty Scientists signing off!
Hi! I'm Shree. I'm good at reading. I like playing with friends. I like going to gym because we get to exercise and do fun things. Today in science, we made wheel systems. Me and my problem solving partner worked together. We did all the challenges. The best one was making a system that goes back and forth. We had to put the axle through the side holes of the discs, not the center! It was amazing!
This blog is maintained as a collaboration between all students and myself. Each week, one student has the classroom job of "Blogger". That student helps decide subjects for our posts, as well as writing one blog post about him/herself.
