Ahhhh! Look! There's a big, brown preying mantis in our classroom! One day, Grace brought it to school to keep as a classroom pet. Mrs. Freeman put it in a terrarium. Over the weekend, it molted! When we came back to school on Monday, we saw its old exoskeleton in the terrarium. It likes to stay at the top and stick its feet through the holes! We keep catching bugs for it, but it didn't eat anything yet. Well, it did eat one mosquito! Stop by and see it sometime!

Good going, Grace!. Was your praying mantis turn green after it molted? I've seen several here and they have all been green.

Hi Nonna, Not yet, it is still a reddish color but under it's body it is green and on it's legs it is green too. Comments are closed.
