Shubert Sees the Best is about how to be nice to friends. Shubert is a lightning bug who lives in Bug Valley and goes to school with a bunch of other bugs, like his sister Sofie and his teacher, Mrs. Bookbinder, the butterfly. In this story, Shubert goes around asking everybody why they are mean to Crenshaw. Mrs. Bookbinder gives him some special heart-shaped glasses. He can see through the glasses and look inside someone to see how they feel. This is called looking through loving eyes.
What we like about it:
We like how Shubert is really caring toward others and also very nice. We also like his heart-shaped glasses. This book has a good message of having empathy toward other people.
Recommendation:
This is a good book for anyone who is learning how to care for others, stop bullying, and have empathy. We also think they should listen to the song "Magic Mirror", by Barry Lane!
Rating:
We give Shubert Sees the Best 3 out of 5 stars.
